Subject: Hong Kong - Day 2 - Disneyland

Racia is 1 year, 9 months, 2 weeks and 1 day old today

We went to Disneyland today. This will be Daddy, Mummy and Racia's first Disneyland trip and experience together.


We woke up at 8:30 am and was all ready to go by 9:30am. After a quick breakfast at Maxim, we took the MTR straight to Lai King to change to the Tung Chung line. We need to make another stop at sunny bay and transfer to the Disneyland Train. The Disneyland train journey is only 3 mins but its the start of our Disney adventure as the Disney train is all decked out in Disney motiffs.


We reach the park at about 10:30am and we could already see quite a queue foaming. Tickets were prices at HKD295 for adults, Racia gets in for free as she is under 3 years old. I arranged for disneyland today as today is the last day of the low peak ticket prices. The peak price of HKD 350 will start from tomorrow onwards. We were lucky that we missed this jumped in price by 1 day.

The park is huge, we entered and found ourseleves in the main town square, there we bought Racia her first Disney Minnie hat. While we were walking through the main street, we saw Chip and Dale and people were queueing to take pictures with them. We jumped in and joine dthe queue, while queuing for our turn, Racia got side tracked by this man holding a huge bunch of helium balloons. I went mad and went and purchased one for her. Each balloon cost HKD100!

The staff at Disneyland were great with kids, they were giving out stickers to her all the time. She recived quite a handful of stickers while she was there, and of course, her favorite was a Pooh sticker which she stuck on her clothes the whole day.

First stop, a fast pass for the Winnie Adventure ride. Our fast past was for 12:30pm to 1:30pm, not good timing as its close to Racia's nap time. we missed this fast pass and had to take another one for 4pm instead.



We queued for a ride on the flying Dumbo elephant. Racia had so much fun that she did not want to get off when the ride ended.


Next, we headed to the characters pavilion for some photo opportunity with the Disney characters. We headed straight for the queue with Pooh, Racia had some really great shots taken with her favourite Pooh bear. Next, we queued for the Mickey and Minnie. The line was so long and it was only our turn after 30 mins of queuing. By then Racia had fallen asleep and we had to take a family picture with a sleeping baby!


We proceeded to lunch awhile Racia nap in her stroller. Lunch was not fantastic, the food was quite expensive, around HKD55 to HKD60 per meal excluding drinks. We had Shanghai Pork chop with vegetable rice and a basket of dim sum. Racia slept throughout our lunch. She only woke up when we were all done. After racia had lunch, we headed to the small small world boat ride, i heard its new and only recently opened.

We enjoyed ourselves tremendously at Disneyland. The only thing that put me off during this trip are the Mainland Chinese visitors. There were so rude, they were pushing their way and trying to cut my queue all the time on all the rides!
