Mummy thinks that Racia is still too young for this piano.
Racia will definitely be supervised when she plays with it because mummy does not want Racia to damage this really nice electronic piano!

Milestone: Climbing One Level Up

Racia is 9 Months, 3 weeks and 3 days old today
Racia surprised mummy and daddy by climbing unassisted up onto a mattress platform at Gymboree today.
Before today, Racia has not been very successful when it comes to climbing over and on top of obstacles.
Mummy could not believe her eyes when she saw Racia climbing successfully up onto the mattress which is at least 6 inches in height at her first attempt.
From this, Mummy can see that Racia's climbing and balancing skills have improved tremendously over the past few days.

Mummy chanced upon and bought these 2 packs of almost life size fruits and vegetables toy set for Racia today.
Vegetable sets includes some of our familiar favourites like; pumpkin, bamboo shoot and even a lotus root!!

Milestone: New Food - Egg Yolk

Racia is 9 Months, 3 weeks old today
In preparation for the MMR jab in the 15th month, Mummy let Racia try her first hard boiled egg yolk today. Racia loves it!
The egg that Racia tried today are laid by kampong chickens and they cost $0.50 per egg. These special eggs are smaller in size as compared to the normal eggs and they are more pale in colour too.
Much smaller compared to regular eggs.
Boiling the egg for 10 minutes.
Milestone: Pulling to Stand - Part 2
Date: 24 December 2007 - Monday
Racia is 9 Months, 2 weeks and 7 days old today
Mummy first documented that Racia has started to want to pull to stand about two weeks ago. Since then, Racia's legs and arms muscles has gotten much stronger and starting from about 2 days back, Racia is finally able to pull to stand on her own.
Racia's favourite spot to pull is now the single seater sofa in the living room.
And Racia's all time favourite activity is :
1) To first pull on the sofa's arm rest to stand,
2) Then explore and dig through the piles of books/stuff on the armrest of the adjacent sofa!

Milestone: Saying Daddy

Racia is 9 Months, 1 week and 7 days old today
Mummy heard Racia saying "Da Da" today.
So Racia calls Daddy first rather than Mummy!
Even though mummy knows that babies at Racia's age is only testing her vocals and that "Da Da" does not mean daddy, mummy can't help feeling jealous that Racia says "Da Da" first instead of "Ma Ma"!
Mummy wonders when she will be able to hear Racia saying "MA MA"!
Milestone: 3rd Tooth
Date: 17 December 2007 - Monday
Racia is 9 Months, 1 week and 6 days old today
Mummy spotted Racia's third tooth today. It is still just a little white spot and this is located in Racia's upper left tooth position.
No wonder Racia has been drooling like a tap the past two days. And as usual, apart from the heavy drooling, Racia is very lucky that she does not show the regular signs of teething (like fever, loss of appetite and interrupted night sleep etc.)
Just like her second tooth, Mummy wonder if Racia's fourth tooth will also take more than a month's interval before appearing!

Milestone: Clapping Hands
Date: 14 December 2007 - Monday
Racia is 9 Months 1 week and 3 days old today
Racia is finally clapping her hands!
For the past 1 week, she has been trying to clap her hands.
What mummy means by "trying" is that Racia will clasp both her hands in a clapping motion and most of the time, her palms do not meet. Racia ends up clasping and touching her fingers to form a tirangle while trying to clap.
Finally today, Racia managed to fully clap both her hands (where both palms fully meet) and mummy could hear her clapping sounds loud and clear.
Mummy can tell that Racia really enjoys clapping her hands. She seems to be clapping all the time throughout the day!

My baby can CRAWL!!!
Mummy made this wonderful discovery yesterday!
While playing on her playmat, Racia attempted to crawl forward. Only 2 baby steps but this made mummy's day! Mummy can see that Racia has finally figured out she needs to tuck her knees in and push herself up so that she can move forward. Racia was still a bit wobbly as she crawled forward. In fact, Racia herself was also very amazed that she could finally move forward.
Mummy tried to encourage Racia to crawl more today. By placing a new toy (a small packet of toasted walnut), This attracted Racia's attention immediately and and without hesitation she crawled the few steps forward to explore this tiny packet of nuts.
Mummy also caught Racia crawling forward trying to move out of the play mat area onto the floors. Mummy can see that Racia is super fascinated by the cool ceramic tiles.
Mummy guess that Racia will soon want to crawl and explore around and its time to start fencing her in her play yard!
Milestone: Pull Up to Standing Position
Date: 23 November 2007 - Friday
Racia is 8 Months, 2 weeks and 5 days old today
Daddy made a surprise discovery when he was giving Racia her evening bath. Racia actually pulled herself up to stand while in the tub.
This is the first time that Racia has shown any inclination of wanting to stand up. Mummy thinks that Racia wanted a clearer view of the bathroom drains which prompted her to stand up to peek over her tub. However, when she was standing up, Racia seems more curious about her straighten legs, she could not stop looking at them.
Next milestone: Cruising perhaps?
Milestone: Sitting up from Tummy Position
Date: 12 November 2007 - Monday
Racia is 8 Months, 1 weeks old today
Today, mummy found that Racia can move into sitting position from tummy position. It was such a funny sight to watch.
Although Racia's movement is still a bit awkward, mummy can tell that Racia can definitely move pretty quickly back to sitting position when she is on her tummy.
With this new skill, Mummy also realised now that Racia does not like to be on her tummy for long. Once she is on her tummy, she will move to sit up immediately.
Mummy hopes that this new skill will not hinder Racia's time learning to crawl.
Milestone: Waving Bye Bye

Racia is 7 Months, 4 weeks, 6 days old today
Mummy found out by chance that Racia can wave bye bye today.
We were all at Suntec for the Hey Baby 2007 contest and Chloe's grandma wanted to carry Racia. When Racia was in her arms, Auntie was waving Bye Bye to Racia and she imitated almost instantly. Racia immitated and did the wave for 3 more times after that.
Mummy is not totally convinced even though everyone (including daddy and Chloe's grandma) confirms that Racia can wave Bye Bye). This is because Racia always waves her arms when she is happy. So mummy think s that maybe Racia is just displaying her usual happy actions?
Mummy thinks that she should try and test Racia again another day!
Milestone: From Sitting to Tummy Position
Date: 01 November 2007 - Thursday
Racia is 7 Months, 4 weeks old today
Mummy was just blogging yesterday that Racia is now learning how to move from sitting position to crawling and this morning, Racia finally figured out how to do it!
Although Racia's movement is still a bit clusmy, Racia has definitely figured out how to launch into crawling position from sitting.
Mummy have been training Racia by placing her favourite fan remote controls just out of her reach so that Racia will learn to move forward and grab it.
And Mummy was expecting that Racia will need another week before she can move successfully from sitting to crawling, she never expects that by Racia could do it by the next day!
Mummy feel that all babies' development are so amazing!
And now Racia needs to learn how to crawl properly!
Milestone: From Sitting to Crawling Position
Date: 31 October 2007 - Wednesday
Racia is 7 Months, 3 weeks and 6 days old today
Racia has been learning to crawl for the past few weeks. However, she has been having a bit of a difficulty moving from sitting to crawling position. Thus far, Racia always falls flat on her face whenever she tries to crawl from her sitting position.
Today, mummy noticed that Racia seemed to have finally realised that in order to not not to fall flat on her face, Racia needs to tuck in her legs before changing to the crawling position.
Mummy is confident that in about a weeks time, Racia should have not problem launching to crawl from siting.
Next step, from tummy to sitting position?

Racia's hair is finally long enough to be tied up!
Mummy had fun tying Racia's hair into two little pony tails today. She used two tiny flower ties and also the Gymboree hair curlies which Mummy bought when Racia was only 3 months old!

Racia is 7 Months, 3 weeks and 4 days old today
Mummy have been diligently teaching Racia how to wave Bye Bye for the past month. Mummy finds that Racia still do not really know how to wave and not really grasping it.
However, mummy realised today that there is actually a hand sign that Racia seemed to have picked up without anyone teaching her! This really surprised mummy as she realised that Racia has known this 1st Hand sign for more than a month already.
Racia says: I want Bao Bao !
Milestone: First Bowl of Porridge
Date: 11 October 2007 - Thursday
Racia is 7 Months, 1 week old today
Racia had her first taste of porridge for lunch today!
Lovingly cooked for her by Nai Nai, the porridge included the following ingredients:
1) Threadfin
2) Chinese Spinach aka Heng Cai
3) Potato
4) Carrot (we decided to try a bit of carrots again to check for allergy)
This is the first that that Racia is trying meat and as usual, Racia showed a funny face when she first tasted the porridge. Racia ate a total of about 20 baby spoonz before she lost interest and started fussing.
Mummy is really glad that Racia did not reject the taste of the porridge because of the meat and fish used.
Racia's Porridge Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 small slice of Pork Meat
1 small slice of Threadfin fish meat
10 leaves + stalk of tender Chinese Spinach / Heng Cai
1 small slice of Potato
1 small slice of Carrot
1 table spoon of rice
suffiecnt water to cook.
Method:
1) Wash rice and veggies and set aside.
2) Wash Rice and place in a porcelain bowl. Fill it with sufficent water.
3) Place pork meat, carrot, potato and cook using the double boil method (within a saucepan of water) for 45minutes.
4) Add fish meatand chinese spinach in porridge and cook for a further 15 minutes.
5) Removed pork meat from cooked porridge.
6) Blend porridge with veggie and fish meat.
7) Serve hot to baby.

Racia finally learned how to turn from her tummy to lie on her back!
For quite a long while, Racia did not know how to turn to lie on her back from her tummy position, thus, she always fusses and made lots of noise when she is tired from her tummy position.
Mummy has spent countless times, rushing to help Racia to flip her onto her back.
With much stronger neck muscle and back coordination, Racia can now flip onto her back unassisted.
