My First Porridge

Milestone: First Bowl of Porridge
Date: 11 October 2007 - Thursday
Racia is 7 Months, 1 week old today

Racia had her first taste of porridge for lunch today!

Lovingly cooked for her by Nai Nai, the porridge included the following ingredients:

1) Threadfin
2) Chinese Spinach aka Heng Cai
3) Potato
4) Carrot (we decided to try a bit of carrots again to check for allergy)

This is the first that that Racia is trying meat and as usual, Racia showed a funny face when she first tasted the porridge. Racia ate a total of about 20 baby spoonz before she lost interest and started fussing.

Mummy is really glad that Racia did not reject the taste of the porridge because of the meat and fish used.



Racia's Porridge Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 small slice of Pork Meat
1 small slice of Threadfin fish meat
10 leaves + stalk of tender Chinese Spinach / Heng Cai
1 small slice of Potato
1 small slice of Carrot
1 table spoon of rice
suffiecnt water to cook.

Method:
1) Wash rice and veggies and set aside.
2) Wash Rice and place in a porcelain bowl. Fill it with sufficent water.
3) Place pork meat, carrot, potato and cook using the double boil method (within a saucepan of water) for 45minutes.
4) Add fish meatand chinese spinach in porridge and cook for a further 15 minutes.
5) Removed pork meat from cooked porridge.
6) Blend porridge with veggie and fish meat.
7) Serve hot to baby.
