Subject: BB2 is walking!
Tricia is 1 year 3 weeks and 3 days old today!
I am very excited to announce that Tricia is walking on her own at 1 year old!

It all started on Monday (11 June), Nai Nai began noticing that she tried to walk 2-3 steps on her on unsupported. This carried on through to Tuesday and Wednesday where she began to talk more steps on her own with no support.
And today, Nai Nai said that she was walking all around her play yard without support!
I witnessed it too when I came home after work.

She seems to enjoy walking quite a bit and will walk around with that amazed expression on her face. I think she finally realised that walking = freedom! hahaha

She is super adorable, like a little wobbly penguin trotting along.

Well done BB2, mummy is so proud of you!

Subject : MMR First Dosage
Tricia is 1 year, 1 week and 5 days old

Tricia had her first dose of MMR at the Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic today.

It was a super traumatising experience for the both of us as she was crying inconsolably throughout!

I suspecedt it was due to her recent hospitalisation experience which cause her fear of nurses and needles.

She was ok when we first entered the consultation room. She was even quiet when daddy carried her to look around while I speak with the nurse on her next appointment.
However, when we lay her down to get ready for the jab, she started crying so loudly. She screamed when the needles pierced through her left arm. And she continued crying for a solid 5 minutes (at least) after we are done. I think she gave the other patient a scare with her loud crying.

I hope her phobia of needles will be gone by the next her next jab is due - The Prevenar, which I think is even more painful than today's MMR.

Date: 30 May 2012 (Thursday)
Subject: First taste of Fries
Tricia is 1 year 1 week and 2 days old

Tricia had her first taste of french fries today! And as expect, she loves it! (Which kid does not like fries?)
Anyway, daddy reminded me to give only non-salted fries to her.
This baby really loves food and I do try to let her taste as many a variety of food as possible at her age now. (Becuase I do not want her to end uplike her jie jie, a super picky eater!)

Tricia's achievements at 1 Year Old:

1. She can cruise really well on her own
2. She can squat
3. She can stand unsupported but has not started walking on her own
4. She has 1 and a half teeth at the bottom of her gums
5. She can wave Bye Bye
6. She blabbers all the time, very loudly all the time. Her favourite words include Beeee, Bu, Ah.
7. She call Jie Jie and Pa Pa all the time
8. She squeals in delight whenever she sees her jie jie
9. She can laugh spontaneously
10. she loves to play Peek-a-boo
11. She is super happy when she sees, Jie Jie, Daddy, Nai Nai and Mummy (in this order)
12. We can wash her hair with her sitting in the tub with water running down her face
13. She still takes 3 naps a day and prefers to nap on her won in her cot
14. She sleeps through the night and seldom wakes up.
15. She can drink from a straw and sip from a cup
16. Mummy has started to give her table food, so far she has tried:
1. Steamed Tofu
2. French Fries
3. Rice
4. Toast
5. Chilled Beancurd
6. Noodles
7. Blueberries
8. Mango
9. Apple
10. Honeydew
11. Watermelon
17. She has started on Formula Milk (GainIQ is her choice)
18. She takes a minimum of 2 naps a day (Once in the morning, once in the afternoon and sometime once more in the evening)
19. At 12 months, she is wearing L/XL size diapers!
20. She was admitted to the hospital a week before she turned one! Stayed a total of 5 days 4 nights at KKH due to inflamed tonsils.

Subject: Tricia turns 1
Tricia is 1 year old today!
Tricia turns one today! And here is a special note for my BB2.

To my dearest Tricia, your turn 1 today!

Mummy remembered at exactly a year ago, you were still super comfy in my tummy. At 11pm the night before, mummy together with daddy checked into Mt Alvernia Hospital at 11pm that night ready to induce you. The reason for inducing was because you were getting really big and mummy was worried that I may not be able to deliver you naturally.

Mummy never expected a baby like you. You surprise me every day. From being able to sleep through when you were 3 months old. To wanted to nap on your own since you were a baby.You have brought lots of joy and happiness to everyone in this family. Your ever smiley face never fails to bring a smile to everyone around you. This included total strangers we meet outside. Everyone wants to wave and say hello because you were so friendly all the time.

Mummy is hearten that you love your Jie Jie so much. And in turn, Jie Jie has also declared you as the best Mei Mei in the whole wide world. Mummy hopes that this is the beginning of a journey of the special bond between you two sisters and hope that you will learn to take care of each other in the following years to come. With you, mummy also learned that love can be shared among two children.

As you turn one today, mummy wishes that you will forever remain cheerful and smiley. Stay healthy and happy always.  Love you family dearly and know that everyone will always be here for you.

Date: 26 March 2012 (Monday)
Tricia is 10 months and 5 days old

Starting on Saturday, I have cut down one pump session in the afternoon. I used to pump at 6:30am, 11am, 4pm and 9:30pm. And now, its 6:30am, 1pm/2pm and 9pm.

With Tricia turning 10 months and solids, there is now a drop in her milk intake. I thought it is time I cut down my pump session at work.

I hope I will still have enought milk to let her on on TBF till she is 1 year old.
