Weekend at Sentosa

Subject: Weekend at sentosa
Date: 6-7 September 2008 (Saturday/Sunday)
Racia is 1 year, 6 months and 3 days old today.

We were at sentosa this weekend!

Mummy thought it would be a great idea to spend a weekend at Sentosa and she went to booked a room at Rasa Sentosa Singapore Resort.
Mummy was packing till 2am on Friday night getting everything ready for this trip.

Look at our bags!

Mummy even planned the itinerary as follows:
Saturday
11am - Pink Dolphin Show
12noon - Lunch
1pm - Nap
2:30pm - Check in and then pool/beach
5pm - Dinner
7:40pm - Song of the Sea
8:30pm - Night Night

Unfortunately, Mummy and Daddy did not follow exactly to the itinerary.

The three of us set off at 9:30am in the morning so that we can make it there in time for the first dolphin show. However, Racia fell asleep on our way to the Pink Dolphin Lagoon. Mummy blames it on the cough medication that Nai Nai fed Racia before we left home. Racia only slept for 15 mins before she was awaken when we reach the Dolphin Lagoon. Racia was crying due to this disrupted nap and only stopped when she saw the Pink Dolphins on the entrance signboard. The dolphin show was great but Racia attention span was short. Mummy paid $15 for Daddy and Racia to have a picture with Pat the matured Pink Dolphin.

Next stop lunch at Taste of Singapore at central Beach (next to the Songs of the Sea). the day was extremely hot. After lunch, Racia was almost napping when she was awoken by another girl sitting at the next table. From then on, she refused to nap.

Mummy managed to check in at the hotel at 2pm and we were told that we have been upgraded to the panoramic sea view room. The room was on the 11th floor and the view was breathtaking. Racia had so much fun running around and exploring the room that she refused to nap. In the end mummy took her down to the pool for a short swim and then to the beach for some sand play.

Racia had fun playing with the sand, she protested each time her finger got dirty. By the time Racia finished her bath at 5pm, she was so tired that she fell asleep with no further protest. Mummy and daddy had to pack dinner back to the room while waiting for Racia to nap. Racia woke up at 6:30pm and after a quick dinner of porridge, it was time to head for the Songs of the Sea show.

The show started prompted at 7:40pm but Racia kept rubbing her eyes wanting to sleep. Mummy bought Racia a lighted fan to distract her so that she can stay awake. it was really windy and cold at the beach. the show was great but half way through when they showed fire and explosion, Racia got frightened and insisted for daddy to bring her out. She kept signing that she was afraid. Daddy had to carry her away from the stage area. ( we were seated at the 2nd row right in the middle) The show ended at 8pm and we proceeded to Koufu at Palawan beach to pack supper. However, on the way back, it started pouring and mummy and daddy were all wet getting back to the hotel (Racia was covered from head to toe in this plastic rain coat and thus manage to stay dry and warm in mummy's arms).
The next morning, after breakfast, racia had another swim at the pool. Daddy checked us out at 1pm and mummy sat at the lobby while Racia napped in her arms. Next, it was off to the Underwater world, followed by a late lunch at Koufu and some water play before heading back home.

Racia was so tired that she went to bed at 7pm today.
