Subject: RWS Halloween Weekend Staycation 2013 - Day 3
Date: 30 October 2012 (Tuesday)

Read about  Day 1 and Day 2 here.

We woke up late and brought the girls for a swim before checking out. The pool water was really cold and there was a slight drizzle. Because of this, we had the entire pool to ourselves!

The girls stayed in the water for close to an hour before we headed back to the room to shower and pack. We checked out at 11am and went over to the Malaysian Food Street for lunch before heading home.

We had a sumptuous lunch of Chicken Rice, Fried Hokkien Noodles, Wantan Mee.  On our way out from the food street, I chanced upon a Lor Bak (Ngo Hiang) stall and bought some back for afternoon tea. We even picked up some Ma Ti Shu at the biscuit corner at the food street!

On our way out  (I had earlier picked out a Sentosa entry ticket that would allow us to enter the island for free) we decided to bring the girls to Palawan beach. Racia has been bugging us to bring her to the beach since the first day when we arrived on Sentosa. Since we had time, daddy decided to grant her wish!

As we exited RWS car park  i noticed that the parking charges were $50! I have never been more glad of the complimentary parking coupon given by the hotel!

Daddy drove us to the Palawan beach where wee took the short walk down to the sandy beach. The girls had fun playing on the sand. I only allowed them to stay for 20 minutes as the sun was really hot and i was afraid that they would get sun burned!.

We head home after a washing up and both girls dozed off immediately when they go on the car.

We had fun at Sentosa and Daddy promised to bring Racia for another getaway during her birthday next year! This has been a wonderful staycation for us.  For our next trip to Sentosa, mummy wants to stay at the Rasa Sentosa hotel!

RWS Halloween Weekend Staycation 2013 - Day 2

We are off  to Universal Studios Singapore today!

I was hoping that it being a Monday, the crowd would be significantly less. However, when we arrived at the main entrance area, I saw a really long queue at the ticketing counter. As we need to grab one more child ticket for Racia, I headed to the travel agent ticketing kiosks located at the basement bus terminal next to the car park (We saw these kioks selling tickets when when we arrived yesterday).

This was a smart move as there were no queue at all and the ticket price is the same. I bought one child ticket for her priced at S$50.

We entered the park at 11am and headed straight for the Madagascar Carousel. Daddy and Racia had their tuen first as I could not get on (All the seated carriages were taken). The staff were very kind and place me on the priority queue. Racia joined me and the 3 of us had fun going one more round.

We decided to rest and get lunch a the food kiosk besides the carousel. It was a simple but expensive lunch.Salmon rice for Tricia and Chicken Cutlet rice for Racia and i understand this meal cost us $50!. While I fed Tricia, Daddy took Racia and went on the Madagascar Boat ride.

Next, Daddy sat with Tricia while I brought Racia for a roller coaster ride at the Castle. A first for her and I think she didn't know how frightening it will be. I am so proud that she was brave enough to go through it (She did not scream at all). She did say she is not keen to try again after that!
Next, the gift shop with the indoor Ferris Wheel. We all squeezed into one cabin the first round. After that, Racia and me continued on for a second turn while daddy waited with Tricia.

We headed towards the castle area and went into the gift shop where they had an indoor Ferris wheel. It was quite a sight to see the antique brass Ferris wheel indoor! We went it two rounds. Tricia soon fell asleep after that. Daddy stayed with her while she napped in the stroller and i brought Racia to Dino land for another ride!

We headed back soon after. By then Tricia has woken and  Daddy suggested heading back to the hotel. We walked past Egypt land and head over to the Battlestar Galactica on our way out. The rides were super impressive and we could hear the screams as the people came rolling down. Even i can feel the adrenalin rush watching on the ground!

We exited the park at 3:30pm (it was way to hot and the girls were all sweaty and dirty). After showering and a short rest in the room, we headed out for an early dinner. We decided to try the Malaysian Food Street this time and found yummy and cheap Malaysian hawker food. There was no crowd and we had a whole table (of 8) to ourselves. And as usual, I over ordered. We had KL Fried Hokkien Noodles, Bah Kut Teh, Penang Fried Kway Tiao, Clay Pot Rice and Satay!

It was off to the Maritime Experiential Museum after dinner. This was another set of ticket bundled with our package. We bought a children ticket for Racia which cost just $2. I love this museum, the displays were magnificent! At the museum, you learn about Cheng Ho and his adventures at sea. There is even life size installation of Cheng Ho's ship, completed with life size animal props (rhinoceros and giraffes). There were activity stations for children along the way. This include, paper boats templates, colouring activity sheets and a passports for children to stamp at each stations. As we were late entering the museum (7pm when we entered), we missed the Maritime Experiential 3D show.

It was close to 8:30pm when we headed back to the hotel to rest and pack up as we will be checking out tomorrow!
