Milestone: Peek A Boo
Date: 14 January 2008 - Monday
Racia is 10 months, 1 week and 3 days old today
Mummy used to be the one holding a blankie/cloth or her palms to play peek a boo with Racia.
However, since about two weeks ago, mummy found that Racia knows how to lift up her blankie or bib and play peek a boo with mummy.
Infact, Racia has been getting more and more playful, lately6 she seems to like playing peek a boo whenever she holds her blankie, diaper cloth, towel and even bib!

Milestone: Standing without Support
Date: 14 January 2008 - Monday
Racia is 10 months, 1 week and 3 days old today
Racia tried to let go of her hands after pushing herself to stand using mummy before bed today.
In fact, when she was in the standing position, Racia immediately let go of one hand and was only supporting herself using her other hand.
While standing, she actually tried to release her other hand to stand on her own. But it was an unsuccessful attempt and she fell back onto the bed.
Tomorrow, Mummy will try and help Racia practise standing on her own.

Milestone: Cruising
Date: 12 January 2008 - Saturday
Racia is 10 months, 1 week and 1 day old today
Racia surprised mummy again today when she took her first few steps while standing in her cot just before bed earlier today.
After she realised that she can move, she hung on tight to the cot bars and started cruising very gently and slowly.
She only walked a few steps before falling back onto the mattress.
Infact earlier today, due to a heavy thunder storm, Racia actually walked 1 tiny step while standing on her usual favourite spot on the sofa into mummy's open arms. It must be the extremely loud thunder that motivated Racia to take that 1st step into mummy's arms.
Mummy hopes that Racia will be able to walk by her first birthday in two months time.

Date: 11 January 2008 - Friday
Racia is 10 months, 1 week old today
During dinner tonight, Racia amazed mummy when she shake her head left and right to indicate that she is full and does not want to eat anymore.
In fact, mummy noticed that Racia has been able to say "No" during her meal times since Monday this week.
Next- Nodding her head to indicate "Yes"?

Milestone: Vocal Development - Calling Daddy
Date: 10 January 2008 - Thursday
Racia is 10 months, 6 days old today
Mummy heard Racia referring to daddy as "Ba Ba" twice today.
First was when Racia attempted to wake a sleeping daddy up. She crawled to daddy, patted him on the shoulders and said "Ba Ba".
Second time was during dinner. When daddy came forward to carry Racia from the high chair, Racia stretched out her arms (indicating that she wants to be carried) , looked at daddy and said "Ba Ba" again.
Racia's favourite person is definitely Daddy!

Milestone: Hand Gesture - Me
Date: 09 January 2008 - Wednesday
Racia is 10 months, 5 days old today
Mummy discovered that Racia has a new hand gesture today.
She patted her palms continuously on her chest.
Racia seems to be saying; "Its Me! I am Racia."

Description: Traditional Hand Drum
Date: 08 January 08 - Tuesday
The Traditional Hand Drum
Racia received a traditional "Made in china" hand drum today. Drum was given by Uncle Marc and Aunt Julie who are currently residing in Shanghai.
This is a very well crafted drum and the sound from the drum is bright, crisp, clear and loud.
Racia loves her drum but it seems to be still a little too big and heavy for her tiny hands.
Racia says: " Hmm.. this looks interesting!"

Mummy caught Racia saying "Ba Ba Ba Ba" today.
*sigh* Mummy is still waiting patiently for the day to hear Racia say " Ma Ma"!
My 4th Tooth

Date: 7 January 2008 - Monday
Racia is 10 months, 4 days old today
Mummy spotted Racia's fourth tooth today. Her top right tooth.
Surprisingly, this 2nd top tooth came out pretty fast as compared to the interval between her bottom two teeth.
Mummy wonder which will be her next tooth popping.

Racia finally had the chance to play with the 26" floor drum and Rainmaker which Mummy ordered from kidzcottage quite a long while back.

A summary of Racia's development as follows:
1) Racia can now pull to stand/push to stand by herself.
2) She can also stand very steadily with support. Mummy also caught her trying to stand without support but only for a few seconds.
3) She is crawling very very well too on both flat surfaces and over and around obstacles (including climbing over mummy the big obstacle). She will make a mad dash/super fast sprint crawling whenever she spots the play yard gates opened. She will crawl out of the gates to sit on the cold ceramic floors. She seems to enjoy just sitting on the cold hard floor.
A summary of Racia's development as follows:

6) Racia has also started to finger feed, mostly only cheerios, baby biscuits and teething rusk. Mummy think its time she introduce some veggie sticks for Racia to try finger feeding.
7) She now drinks from a straw cup.
8) She is eating textured food - chopped/flaked instead of pureered.
9) She now has 2 bottom teeth and one top tooth coming out.
10) She loves to say "Da Da". Mummy thinks that Racia loves daddy more than mummy!

12) She is showing more of her emotions especially temper and anxiety. She will protest really loudly when her favourite toys are taken away and she seems to cling on more to mummy whenever she is tired or in unfamiliar places or with an unfamiliar crowd.
13) She is also showing more expression on her face. (e.g. puzzled look, buay song stare, raised eyebrow etc.)Mummy always laugh whenever Racia shows one of these funny expressions.

17) She can clap really well, and will clap most of the time when she hears music.

19) She can pass objects very quickly from one hand to the other.
20) She recently loves to imitate mummy or grandma's actions like pointing and raising of hands.

Milestone: Imitating Actions
Date: 02 January 2008 - Wednesday
Racia is 9 Months, 4 weeks and 1 day old today
Racia is getting better at imitating mummy's actions.
Today Mummy raised her hands and ask Racia to follow. Without hesitating, Racia immediately raised up her right hand!
Another action that Raica loves to follow and imitated is to bend her head to the left. Whenever Racia sees mummy bending her head sideways, she will follow suit!

Milestone: Standing without Support
Date: 01 January 2008 - Tuesday
Racia is 9 Months, 4 weeks old today
Since Racia has learnt to pull/push to stand, she has been getting more and more bold and adventurous. She has been moving around lot and pushing/pulling to stand at almost every opportunity.
And today, Racia surprised mummy with her development again. While holding on to stand on her Fisher Price Pop-Onz table in her play yard, mummy saw Racia her letting go of both her hands and standing on her own. She stood for approximately 3 seconds before falling back onto her bum.
Next, mummy hopes to see Racia cruising soon.
