Today is the second day of the Lunar Chinese New Year.

Its another day of feasting today. For lunch, SIL and family will be coming over.

We have arranged for fast food delivery (Pizza). But as a few of us are still coughing, I decided to cook some pasta to add on to the food. BB1 came with me to nex CS this morning where we bought the ingredients for the pasta!

We are heading over to SIL's place for a steamboat dinner tonight with FIL.

After dinner, we tried out BIL's 3D TV! It was a great experience and now we are tempted to get one for ourselves too!

Its CNY day1 today!

And as per tradition, we have guest coming to join us for lunch.

MIL and I planned the lunch menu last week. For today, we will be serving the following:
- Fried Bee Hoon
- Stir Fry broccoli, cauliflower, bellpeppers and prawns
- Guo Tie (Dumplings)
- Oven baked chicken
- Abalone

We decided to stay home today as  it was super hectic last week preparing for CNY. Moreover, it has been raining and we are also lazy to venture out.

Super happy on this first day of CNY!

Subject : CNY Reunion Dinner 2013
Date: 9 February 2013 (Saturday)

It's steam boat and yu sheng for reunion dinner this year!

Its been 3 years since we started the yu sheng tradition! for dinner, its simple and yummy steam boat with all our favourite ingredients!
We had an early dinner at 5pm and after that proceed to my mom's place for round 2 of the dinner. This year MIL joined us at my moms and our tummy were bursting by the end of the night!

Subject: Preparing for CNY 2013
Date: 7 February 2013 (Thursday)

I have been so busy at work this year (I blame it on SID) that I could only prepare for CNY these last 2 days before the eve!

Took 2 days off from work on this last week to do all the food shopping that I need. I was glad that I had prepared the girls outfits much earlier and thus could strike this off my to-do list! Even with just the food and drinks shopping, I almost went mad.

It was super crowded everywhere and I had to queue 30 minutes at NTUC Xtra just to pay for my groceries!

For the Bah Kwa, this was a near miss as I almost could not buy any at all. I had to whine and cajoled the shop assistant to sell me (they were running low on supply) the 2 packs of BBQ meat which is so essential for CNY! Lesson learnt, do not leave everything to the last minute. If i need to, pre-order a month in advance to minimize any heart attack!

My contribution to the CNY snacks this year, fried crispy seaweed crackers!
