Racia is 4 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 5 days old
Its time to celebrate Racia's birthday again! She is 5 this year and the theme chosen (by her) this year is Tangled! Rapunzel.
As Rapunzel is Disney's newest princess, it is extremely difficult to source for Rapunzel themed party stuff in Singapore. As usual, I didn't realised that we are so close to her actual birth date, otherwise, it would have been so much easier to order from the states!
We will be celebrating her birthday in school on the 2nd March 2012 (Friday) at 3pm. She will get a 1kg Princess cake from Bangawan Solo (I will be ordering tonight) and i have also packed 14 goodies bag for her friends in school. (7 boys and 7 girls in total excluding Racia).

Racia says ..... $13 is so expensive

I had an interesting conversation with Racia today
Me: Baby, mummy can't buy you things all the time.
Racia: Why?
Me: Because some things are expensive and mummy don't have enough money....
Racia: ok mummy, i will not ask for expensive things, like things that are $13, they are too expensive! Maybe we can buy things that are $1, $2, $3 or $4?
Me: Yes, we can buy cheaper things but we can't buy too many $4 items too because three $4 item will be about $13 too.
Racia: yes, $13 is too expensive! And we cannot buy more toys if not our house will have too many toys!
Its time I start teaching her monetary values of things!
Tricia is 9 Months Old Today

Subject: 9 Month Baby
Tricia is 9 months old today
Happy 9th months my darling baby Tricia!
Tricia has grown so much over the past months and these are what she can do and is doing at 9 months old
- She can crawl really well and fast on all fours
- She can sit on her own unsupported
- She can move from sitting to crawling and back to sitting position on her own
- She can pull to stand in her cot and the play yard
- She has started to cruise (With unsteady legs) in her play area
- She has started solid and loves her fish porridge, brown rice cereal and organic puffs! Mummy is still trying to get her to eat raw fruits
- She can pick up her puffs (using her pincer grip) with both her right and left hands
- She has started on egg yolk (Nai Nai buys her kampong chicken eggs from the Kovan Market)
- She can take her nap and fall sleep on her own in her play pen cot (no need bao bao)
- She has started to cut her naps in teh afternoon and now only takes 2 naps instead of 3
- She can drink really well from a straw cup and consumes lots of water in the day
- Her hearing and eyesight seems to be good and she can hear and spot us from a distance
- She giggles and coos and talk her baby talk all the time
- She started to enjoy playing peek-a-boo
- She laughs and smiles all the time
- She gets super excited when she sees her Jie Jie and would babble non stop when Jie Jie is around
- She loves to play with us and would laugh really loud
- I suspect her she will neither call mama or papa but would be calling Jie Jie first
- Her all time favourite hand sign is the "I want Bao Bao" sign with wide open arms
Happy 9 months my baby, may you be healthy, happy always!
Cruising Tricia

At 8 months 4 weeks old, Tricia has started cruising in her cot.
Now i wonder if she will start walking before she turns 1.

Egg yolk for Tricia

Subject: Introduction of Egg Yolk
Tricia is 8mths 3wks and 5ds old
We introduced Tricia to egg yolk today!
These are special eggs from kampong chickens! Nai nai specially went to Kovan market to purchase them as they are only available for sale there.
It looks like a success and she took it really well. She finished half today and we will continue to slowly introduce it to her on alternate days.
It looks like we are all clear for MMR now!
Plastic in her mouth!
Tricia gave us a bad scare today, when we found a small piece of plastic stuck on her tongue in her mouth.
It started this evening not long after her milk when she gagged and threw up. After changing her, i found that she kept making this choking sound and was using her fingers to dig in her mouth. I thought the gagging was due to her pushing her finger too far in.
When i put her to bed, she was super fussy and even cried, she kept drooling and spitting out tons of saliva and i had to change her the 2nd time tonight. We really started to think that something was not right when she cried really loud when i tried to let her lie down. Even when i latched her, she refused to drink and kept gagging. We then took a torch and look inside and mouth and that was when i saw a clear piece of small plastic. I wasn't sure initially and Daddy thought it was her saliva playing tricks on my eyes. We continued to probe with the touch and finally saw the plastic clearly. I gently probe it and it came our with my fingers. Immediately, we could see that she was visibly much better. Its super puzzling how come the plastic landed up in her mouth. I guess we need to inspect her play pen closely now to check for any more loose pieces of plastic.
Tricia is a super happy baby and only when she is in pain or in distress will she cry really badly. I am sure it was really uncomfortable for her which was why she cried so badly early. Anyway my baby is all happy now and promptly fell asleep after lying her down in her cot.

Tricia can drink from her straw cup!
I actually tried about 3 weeks ago but i guessed she was not ready as she didn't know how to suck the liquid up. We stopped then. Grandma tried yesterday but was still unsuccessful and today, we tried again and it was a success!!

Once she understands the concept of sucking using the straw, she actually drank quite a bit of water. Her water consumption through the straw was much more compared to drinking from here magmag sippy cup.
Racia started on the straw at 8 months 3 weeks and 4 days old. I guess Mei Mei beat her to this milestone by four days!

I can Pull to Stand!
Date: 9 February 2012 (Thursday)
Subject: Pull to Stand
Tricia is 8 months 2 weeks and 5 days old
At 8 and a half months old, Tricia learned to pull to stand in her playpen cot this evening!
Mummy was not around when it happened but it was good that daddy remembered to captured this moment on camera.
Mommy is proud of you for achieving this milestone so quickly. Very soon, you will be walking!
Tricia on Porridge

Subject: Starting on Porridge
Tricia is 8 months 2 weeks and 2 days old
Finally today, Nai Nai started Tricia on porridge. This is much slower as compared to Racia who started porridge when she was 7 months old.
For this first taste of porridge, Nai Nai added carrots, fish and potato. Sounds yummy right!
Tricia didn't like it too much when she tasted it and I suspected that it was because this was a new kind of food to her and she is not used to the texture.
Let's hope she will like it more and more soon.
Its time i stocked up on butternut squash and zucchini for her porridge!
I can crawl!

Subject: Crawling so well
Tricia is 8 months 2 weeks and 1 day old
A week ago, i realised that Tricia can crawl quite well.. but most of the time its on the bed which has a soft mattress. I started to put her on the play mat and realised that she can ce=rawl very well and fast too. The proper crawl with her tummy lift up from the floor.
I think i will need to confirm her soon as i forsee her crawling all over the house!
P.S> we have also lowered her cot as she was started to pull herself up. Should be cruising soon too
