Milestone: Saying Ma Ma
Date: 25 February 2008 - Monday
Racia is 11 months, 3 weeks old today

Mummy finally heard Racia mouth and say the word "Ma Ma" today!

Since December, all Racia has been saying is "Pa Pa" and "Ba Ba". Its was such a surprised to finally hear Racia say "Ma Ma" finally!

Racia has made mummy very very happy today :).

Mummy just hope that Racia was not referring to food (as in "Mum Mum") when she was saying "Ma Ma"!

Event: Birthday Studio Photo Shoot

Racia is 11 months, 2 weeks and 5 days old today

Racia is turning one next month and Daddy and Mummy decided to bring Racia for a studio shoot session to celebrate her coming of age.
This shoot was held at Foto-U studio with photographer Benjamin Loo today.

Milestone: 1st Lunar Birthday
Date: 21 February 2008 - Thursday
Racia is 11 months, 2 weeks and 3 days old today

Today is the 15th day of the first lunar month(the first full moon after the Spring Festival) or the last day of Chinese New Year aka 元宵节 Yuan2 Xiao1 Jie2 and it is also Racia's Lunar birthday.

Mummy and daddy had a mini celebration for Racia at home. Wai Po and Wai Gong came over and joined for dinner too.

Mummy ordered a delicious "Strawberry Shortcake" cake for Racia from Four Leaves bakery.
Racia had cake for the first time tonight. (She didn't really like it though and refused to open her mouth for a 2nd bite). Mummy also gave Racia a few "traditional" objects to select and Racia selected the following in this order.

1) Note Book - Representing Book - means good in studies?

2) Pen - Good in study or Businesswoman?

3) Calculator - Finance

4) Money - Wealth

The only object Racia did not picked up was the ruler (Engineer?)

Milestone: Missing Morning Nap
Date: 20February 2008 - Wednesday
Racia is 11 months, 2 weeks and 2 days old today

Racia missed her morning nap for the first time today.

Infact, she did not show any sign of tireness or wanting to nap when it was near her morning nap time at 9am.

For the past 11months, She usually takes a nap between 9:00 to 10:30am every morning.
And mommy was wondering if this is a sign that Racia is ready to drop one of her day naps.
(Babies do start to drop one of their day naps as they near 1 year old and the morning nap is usually the first to go.).

Mommy will continue to monitor over the next few days to see if Racia is really ready to drop this morning nap from her daily schedule.

Milestone: 7th Tooth
Date: 19 February 2008 - Tuesday
Racia is 11 months, 2 weeks and 1 days old today

Mummy spotted a little white pearly dot on Racia's upper gums today. This new errupting tooth is located on the left side next to the top centre tooth.

Mummy has actually noticed that the area looks swollen and white-ish for close to a week. It is only today that the tooth finally came out.

Subject: New Food - Mushroom
Date: 18 February 2008 -Monday
Racia is 11 months, 2 weeks old today

Mummy let Racia try mushroom today.

It was fresh shitake mushroom. Mummy cut the mushroom in quarters and removed the stem. Only one quater was used. The piece of mushroom was washed and soaked in hot water before adding to Racia's porridge.

No allergy noted at the end of the day. To confirm that Racia is not allergic to mushroom, mummy will conitnue to include mushroom in Racia's meals for the next 3 days.

Subject: Outing - Sentosa
Date: 17 February 2008 - Sunday
Racia is 11 months, 1 week and 6 days old today

Mummy and Daddy together with Nai Nai brought Racia to see the Chinese New Year Floral exhibit at Sentosa today. Its Racia's first trip to Sentosa. The weather was really good... sunny with wind.

Racia was very excited over her silver foil buttefly balloon which daddy bought for her at the exhibition ground.

It was a great family outing and mummy is hoping to plan for a trip to the zoo next.

Milestone: Car Seat - Front Face
Date: 16 February 2008 - Saturday
Racia is 11 months, 1 week and 5 days old today

Daddy finally adjusted Racia's car seat and turned it front facing today.
For many months, Racia's car seat has been back facing due to safety reason.
The general guidelines given indicate that you should only switch your child car seat to front face when your baby is about 9 kg or around 1 year old.

Milestone: 5th & 6th Tooth
Date: 14 February 2008 - Thursday
Racia is 11 months, 1 week and 3 days old today

This morning, Mummy spotted Racia's fifth and sixth tooth today. Her bottom left and right tooth next to her current two bottom teeth.

These two teeth seems to be errupting at the same time. Racia was crying really badly last night, mummy was wondering if this is due to these two new teeth.

Grandma commented that its uncommon for the two bottom tooth to come out first instead of the top 2 teeth!

Mummy has already started to see white spot areas on Racia's upper gums. Mummy guess the next one coming will be the two tops ones.

Milestone: Blabbering and Gesturing
Date: 14 February 2008 - Thursday
Racia is 11 months, 1 week and 3 days old today

Since CNY, Mummy found that Racia has been blabbering much more as before. Racia's blabbering has also become much more louder then before.

Her first word seems to be "Bear".. she will say bear whenever she sees pictures/photos or even a teddy bear.

She has also started to be really responsive and will point whenever she wants us to bring her to certain location in the house.

Mummy thinks that very soon, Racia will be talking non-stop!

Milestone: New Vegetable - Tomatoes
Date: 14 February 2008 - Thursday
Racia is 11 months, 1 week and 3 days old today

Mummy let Racia tried tomatoes today. A small skinned piece of tomato was added into Racia's porridge during lunch and dinner. Mummy find that the porridge seems to be a lot tastier with the tomatoes added.
